PROJECT RECAP:

Die Initiatoren e.V. called upon Brisk to structure the ideation and project planning of this year’s kick-off conference. After an inspiring talk by Dr. Eichhammer, Head of Energy Politics & Markets at Fraunhofer Institute, a team of 20 participants from across Germany convened in a castle south of Munich to generate concepts against energy waste in private homes.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY:

Following a quick introductory session about Design Thinking, we split the group into subteams and ran through a series of quick exercises, including:

  • macrotrends that impact energy consumption behaviours in the private home
  • user segments, described as personas, and their specific needs
  • user scenarios before, during and after moments of energy waste
  • design challenges to solve
  • cocreative ideation
  • concept sketching and quick pitch

OUTPUT:

The interdisciplinary student teams were allocated to one of two selected concepts and built 1-year roadmaps to bring each idea to life! Follow their progress here.

KEY SKILLS:

  • quick introductory lecture on Design Thinking, the methods, the mindset, the tools and example cases
  • cocreative workshop facilitation
